Admire the nature beauty of Aswan Island while having an amazing ride in Felucca
Aswan… the last city of Egypt but indeed not the least. Egypt’s southern most city is home to the Nubian people and sits on the first cataract of the river Nile. Travelers will notice the more African feel to this beautiful town. It has small and quaint bazaars with laid back shop holders who are more pleased to see you than pressuring you to buy. Aswan is the first port of call for many Sudanese who journey along Lake Nasser to trade in Aswan’s markets. The river Nile is possibly at it’s most inspiring in Aswan as it meanders through small islands covered in palm and glides past golden sand dunes, amber desert and granite rocks as it makes it’s journey towards Alexandria. Having been called the Land of Gold in the past only reflects how precious this land was to the ancient Pharoah’s. Here the pace of life is slow and relaxing. Days can be spent strolling up and down the broad Corniche or sitting in floating restaurants listening to Nubian music and eating freshly caught Nile perch. No matter where you go the air is filled with the essence of exotic spices and the constant background humm of Nubian music. Today we will get on our private felucca to sail around the beautiful Aswan islands and visit the first cataract and that will be included lunch.
